Yay!!! I’m finally doing this!
So this is a layout with my niece Mckenna as the main subject. I adapted this layout from one I found in Scrapbook Etc. magazine, which if you don’t subscribe to it, you should pick up an issue, it’s great.
To do this layout I used three different prints of paper. And even though it looks like there is stitching around the title block and also the flower shaped paper used in the background, I actually did this very carefully using a glitter gel pen. I feel like my skills with the sewing machine need to become a little more fine-honed before I trust myself to embellish one of my cherished pages, so I’ll just stick to pen for now.
I also really like the little embellishments I used like the dragonflies and small buttons. I feel like they really make the page pop.
I think what makes this page work is the simplicity of it. The three pictures say it all, so I tried to keep the page girly, without taking away from my adorable niece.
I eagerly welcome all your questions and comments about this, and all the layouts and ideas I post in the future.
