| The view from one of my evening runs. |
If you follow my facebook at all, you know that I’ve been running now for over 3 weeks.
I don’t know why it took me so long to motivate myself to do this, I mean, several of my friends started awhile back and I saw then how much it changed their lives for the better…but I finally decided to take the plunge for myself.
Another huge source of motivation for me to do this was Pinterest – THE source for all things awesome and good (follow me if you’d like
.
One day, I came across this pin:

Incidentally, that day had been awful and I decided enough was enough. I WAS going to run away from it all.
And I did, and I have been 2 – 4 nights a week since. And it is simply amazing.
I love the way I feel after a good run, so I keep doing it. I’m losing inches and getting more toned with each passing day which is awesome…but that’s not even the reason I’m doing it.
I’m doing it because this one thing…running…truly lets me let go of the day. And it’s so liberating.
Crumbs on the floor, forms to mail, bills to pay, laundry to fold, people to call, diapers to change
going…
going…
gone.
Now that I’ve started running, I don’t think I’ll stop as long as I’m physically able. It’s the best.
And besides…have you seen the view from here?

| Pretty sweet huh? |
P.S. I signed up for the BlogHer 12 5K today….will you be running with me?

I’m so happy I could help you get motivated to run. That really means a lot to me, Haley. Keep it up, you’re doing great.
I miss it so much right now, so send good ankle healing mojo for me, k?
xoxo
I am so proud of you! The views you see while running are amazing. I’ve seen sunrises and rainbows and flowers and things that I never would’ve seen while sitting in the couch. It’s a blessing.
I’m a new runner myself. I haven’t been quite as dedicated as you have to the number of times per week, but the release I get from running is absolutely amazing and I wish I’d started, and stuck to it, much sooner!
You go, girl! Running really is amazing. I miss it, but pregnancy and running don’t mix well for me…so I’ll enjoying feeling and watching this little one grow and look forward to hitting the pavement running again as soon as I can after he arrives. There’s just something about running that I can’t get enough of – the freedom, the overcoming, the challenge.
Those definitely are beautiful views. I’m not a runner but my son is and he participates in 5K runs often. He’s devoted to it and does it for the enjoyment as well.
