As the mother of a child with autism it is always exciting to learn of new products and services that can help Jackson to grow up healthy and happy.
A new find for us recently was Mobu Herbals.

After learning of my sons autism, Janell offered to send us some of their Lavender Kava Calm lotion. This lotion features “Quieting herbs that help alleviate anxiety, stress, nervousness, trauma, compulsive behavior and promotes relaxation and restful sleep.”
This lotion was specifically made for individuals with autism, ADD/ADHD, and hyperactivity so I was very excited to try it.
One of the things that Jackson, and most individuals on the spectrum suffer from, is the ability to wind down at the end of the day for sleeping. Sometimes it can take hours to get Jackson calm enough to fall asleep and even then he might not sleep all night because he little brain is just so active.
After receiving the cream we tried it at night after bath time and before bed. The first night we used it Jackson did doze off more quickly than usual, but we had also had a very busy day that day…so I wasn’t sure if he had just been over tired. The next night we used the cream again. Again, Jackson fell asleep pretty fast and did not wake in the night.
Over the next week I could definitely see some benefits of the cream. It helped Jackson to relax as part of our bedtime routine.
The cream has a pleasant smell and is not greasy and since I feel we have found a bit of success with it, we will continue to purchase the Lavender Kava Calm lotion in the future.
