Making good choices for breakfast has always been a struggle for me. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE breakfast foods…I just seem to always want the ones that aren’t good for me.

You know… junk like donuts, danish, and drive-thru sandwiches that are high in calories and hardly healthy. But since I’m often in a hurry in the morning it is all too easy to grab an unhealthy option for breakfast because I don’t have the time to cook a balanced meal.

Enter the Quaker Soft Baked Bar. A perfect item to grab for breakfast on the go and a wholesome food too! Each bar has 5g of Fiber, 6g of Protein, and only 140 calories! I love these because they come in flavors that feel indulgent even though I’m actually eating something good for me. There is the Cinnamon Pecan Bread flavor and also Banana Nut Bread (which was my personal fave).

The Cinnamon Pecan Bread bars were good too, but I personally am not a fan of pecans (which seems so wrong considering it is the Texas State Tree, LOL)…so I didn’t like them as much as the Banana Nut Bread bars. It’s funny too because I shared the bars with some friends of mine and they all loved the Cinnamon Pecan Bread flavor and thought I was crazy.

One thing we all agreed on was that it was nice to see a breakfast snack that was low in calories and good for you that you could grab on your way out the door in the morning. We also noted that they would be great for snacks during hiking and other outdoor activities.

I especially like that Quaker also offered a new take on the traditional “bar” concept by having instructions for warming in the microwave on the package…that little extra made all the difference in the enjoyment of the bars for breakfast.
