Day Trip: Dewberry Farm is the perfect Fall outing for families in the Houston area

{Too cool for pumpkins, obviously.}

This past weekend we headed out to Dewberry Farm to get some Pumpkins for our Fall decor and for a day of fun.

It was warmer than I expected, getting up to almost 90 at one point…but we just wiped the sweat off our brows and picked out some pretty pumpkins anyway.

I highly recommend Dewberry Farm as a great option for a Fall family weekend outing for a few reasons. The first is the price.

For $12.00 a person (Ages 3 – 54), your family can take part in a ton of fun activities on the farm like the pumpkin patch, pig races, the cow train, fun playgrounds, corn maze, a petting zoo, and more!

The farm also has extra activities that come at an additional cost, which I think are worth it if you have teens or tweens who may get bored after picking out their pumpkin. Extra activities can be added onto your base ticket individually, or you can buy an Adventure Pass that includes all of them, read more about this HERE.

My (and Jackson’s) favorite extra activity is the jumping pillows (picture a moonwalk, but without walls, and partially submerged in sand). For an extra $3.00 per person you can have all day access to the jumping pillows and bounce to your hearts delight!

The second reason I love Dewberry is because of the variety of activities they offer. In the past when we have visited other pumpkin patches I was always a little sad at how short lived of an outing it would be…we’d go, find our pumpkin, snap a few photos and that would be it…in less than an hour or so.

When I plan something as a Day Trip, I really want it to give us an actual days worth of things to do and Dewberry achieves this with flying colors. The variety of playgrounds, slides, and forts alone allows for hours of fun for kids…which I love. They even offer lots of shady areas for parents to sit and watch the kiddos, which I also love. With many unique experiences like a stroll through Punkin Hollar, the farm keeps families busy an entertained all day long.

My final reason for recommending Dewberry is because they offer lots of options when it comes to food & drink, and it is not insanely expensive. So often now I find myself having sticker shock anytime we are visiting an attraction and stop to get food. At Dewberry this was not the case.

With typical “carnival type” food options at decent prices (and good service too!) eating lunch at the Farm was tasty and very pleasant. I highly recommend the corn from Zeke’s and the BBQ sandwiches from Mattie’s.

Dewberry Farm Pumpkin Patch is open weekends through Nov. 11th.
