Weekend Wonders

Cow_Train_Smiles

I once overheard my Mom tell a friend that her children were her one consistent true joy in life. At the time, I smiled and thought “Awww, mama loves me.” Now though, years later…I know exactly what she meant when she said that. I wait for afternoons and weekends to come with such anticipation…because I simply cannot wait to spend the days with my personal joy. This little boy just lights up my life so much, I tell you. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in photos – Lion King Area

Art_of_Animation_Pumba_Timon_Simba

I remember going to see the Lion King for the first time like it was yesterday. I went with my mom and brother, and we saw it at the AMC 6 in the mall by our house. After the movie, we talked about it in the car all the way home. It was one of the best Disney movies ever!, I remember saying. In the weeks to follow I would become obsessed with the film… eventually owning the sound track, {Read More}

This is Halloween! This is Halloween!

Magic_Kingdom_Halloween2

Now that I’m home from the Happiest Place on Earth, I can honestly say…no one does Halloween better than Disney. No one. Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!       P.S. I paid for our Disney Vacation with my own money, I just wanted to share our wonderful time with you!

Day Trip: The Texas Renaissance Festival

Texas_Ren_Fest_1

I love Fall. The promise of cooler days and the turning of leaves is something that I look forward to each year with excitement. And what would Fall be without The Texas Renaissance Festival? For me, the two have always gone hand in hand. Since I was girl I have loved to go and take part in the visual feast that is TRF. This year was no exception. I just live for this, you know? I get my face painted {Read More}

Hidden Gems in Central Park {WW}

Bow_Bridge

I just returned from a 5 day trip to New York City and although I’m not yet caught up on my laundry or sleep…I absolutely could not wait to come home and upload these amazing shots I captured in Central Park. I walked through the park alone one afternoon for several hours and it was the most amazing (dare I say, cathartic) experience. If you are in the city and have an entire day to devote to Central Park, I {Read More}

My favorite moments from Disney Social Media Moms 2012

Mickey_Fantasia_Topiary

It has been a few months since I returned home from the Disney Social Media Moms Conference, but I’m only just now sharing my favorite photos. I know, I know…it’s awful, but I’m insanely busy and just got around to editing them and for 2…I have Disney on the brain a lot these days…because we are going back in October! That’s right…we’ll be back in the land of magic in late October, just in time for Halloween celebrations! I’m just {Read More}

A quiet Summer evening

me_jackson_frame

It rained almost all day yesterday…and the day before that. To be honest, prolonged nasty weather has a horrible effect on my mood. It makes me…well, nasty. But by evening it seemed the rain was done for awhile..and the sun even tried to peek through the clouds for a bit so we took advantage and headed over to the local splash pad. (see how much Jackson has grown since we went last year) It was cool, quiet and the perfect {Read More}

Photos He Took – Week 3 #autism

There is something so charming and wonderful about seeing the world through Jackson’s perspective. I’m lucky that I get to do this every time I pick up his iPad and go through the photos he has taken recently. Sometimes he uses Hipstamatic or photobooth…sometimes he just sticks to the plain old camera. No matter the app, the results are always fun. The photos I share in “Photos He Took” are exactly as I find them on the iPad, I don’t {Read More}

Adventures at The Downtown Aquarium Houston

Rainbow Fish.  I love taking day trips on the weekends with Jackson. It’s always fun to discover something new and watch his eyes grow with wonder when we visit places like the Downtown Aquarium. We are on a kick right now where we don’t want to wear shoes. Ever.  If you have not visited the Houston Downtown Aquarium yet I suggest giving it a try. The exhibits are nice and so is the A/C. It’s especially good if you go {Read More}

Disney’s new Art of Animation Resort brings your favorite movie characters to life! #disneysmmoms

Marlin&Nemo

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Disney Social Media Moms Conference at The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. And of course I was thrilled! The line-up of speakers was amazing, I would get to see many of my fave bloggy friends there too, but the thing that excited me the most when we got our itinerary…was touring the newly built Art of Animation Resort!!! Why you ask? Well for one it was a really big {Read More}
