Taken at our most recent portrait session.
It’s hard to believe it, but Jackson will turn 6 this August.
I honestly don’t know where the time goes!
These days we are very busy, because in addition to Jackson being in school full time now, he also does therapy after school 2 days a week (we are hoping to eventually bump this up to 3 days!).
We have been lucky to find the MOST AMAZING place for therapy ever, and I am so grateful because Jackson has shown tremendous progress after only a month or so of attendance. This momma is happy, let me tell you.
Since we started therapy, Jackson has been trying to vocalize and mimic some words when they are spoken to him. I cannot wait to see the skills he develops this year.
At his last check-up Jackson was 3 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 53 lbs.
After lots of doctors visits and phone calls, we now have a better hold on his allergies and asthma…and are managing them with medication.
His sleep study revealed that he does not have apnea…but did in fact have sleep initiation issues, so we now have a doctor helping us tackle that and so far it’s working! Yay!
It was also determined that Jackson was not having seizures as was once suspected and that his staring spells are just in relation to his autism and of no risk to his health (phew!).
Since Christmas Jackson has been healthy for the most part…aside from one random sinus infection, and I’m hoping we can keep that trend going.
Right now his favorite things are musical toys that also light up (the Baby Einstein Treasure Chest is very loved) and the “Seek & Find Circus App” on his iPad.
His favorite food is french fries and his favorite drink is milk.
His favorite movies are Monsters Inc., Nemo, and Cars.
Jackson loves long car trips and playing on the swings at the park.
He has made so much progress with his behavior and skills thanks to school and therapy…and it really makes my heart swell to see him doing so well.
Just when I think I couldn’t possibly love this little boy anymore…he smiles at me and my heart melts all over again.
